Village staff is proposing to complete scheduled preventative maintenance on Well #4 in January 2020. The work is anticipated to take approximately four weeks. The normal cycle for well maintenance is approximately 8-10 years and Well #4 was last overhauled in spring 2010. The current scheduled maintenance would fall within the maintenance schedule at approximately nine years since the last maintenance.
Historical Water System Demand in January/February
Historical daily demand for January and February ranges from approximately 1.3-1.5 MGD depending upon various external factors. This period is typically the lowest period annually for system demand and why maintenance is typically scheduled in this time frame. The Village will utilize Well #3, during the maintenance period. Well #3’s total output is between 1.522-1.65 MGD. External or unforeseen demands on system production, such as water main breaks or structure fires in the community may exceed Well #3’s output capacity in short duration. The Village may need to rely on Well #1 for supplemental usage if demand exceeds 1.65 MGD. Well #1’s production rate is a maximum of 780 gpm or 1.123 MGD.
Maintenance work is anticipated to take approximately four weeks. Updates will be posted to the Municipal Services Newsflash when project milestones are reached. To sign up for projects updates, please visit the "Notify Me" section of the Village website.
